About the Journal
Journal of Inclusive Language Education (JILE) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing equitable, accessible, and socially responsive language education. The journal provides a scholarly platform for research, theory, policy, and practice addressing the diverse linguistic, cognitive, cultural, social, and educational needs of language learners across all educational settings. The journal is totally free to read and publish. It does not charge any fees from the readers or authors.
The journal welcomes high-quality original research that explores inclusive approaches to first, second, foreign, heritage, and multilingual language education. Particular attention is given to learners with disabilities, learning differences, migration or refugee backgrounds, socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, and other groups whose participation in language learning may be affected by structural, pedagogical, or institutional barriers.
By bringing together researchers, teachers, teacher educators, policymakers, and practitioners, the JILE aims to promote evidence-based practices that ensure meaningful participation, achievement, and belonging for every language learner. The journal encourages interdisciplinary perspectives and contributions that connect language education with special and inclusive education, applied linguistics, educational technology, assessment, teacher education, and social justice.
The journal publishes empirical studies, systematic reviews, theoretical papers, methodological contributions, and practice-oriented articles that make a clear contribution to inclusive language education worldwide.
